Laser treatment at the sidas clinic

STEROID INJECTION THERAPY

Steroid injection therapy, or corticosteroid injection therapy, is a medical treatment performed by a qualified professional that reduces pain and inflammation quickly and effectively to treat foot and ankle problems. The steroids are administered inside the lesion with or without local anesthetic.

Steroids are widely used by podiatrists, orthopedics, and physiotherapists to treat complex and non-complex musculoskeletal conditions, reducing pain, stiffness, and inflammation, and improving mobility.

IS THIS APPOINTMENT RIGHT FOR ME?

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

How many session are needed?

One session is typically needed. If the pain returns after a while, more sessions may be considered.

Are steriod injections painful?

Most of our techniques are performed under local anesthetic, so the pain will be minimised. The local administration of the steroid may be combined with anesthetic to reduce post-injection discomfort. Mild to moderate discomfort might be felt at the injection site after the anesthetic wears off, but your podiatrist will advise you on how to reduce this.
